About Us: First Law

First Law was founded in January 1999. It was established to bring Irish law to practitioners in an immediate, searchable electronic format. The service was sold in 2009 to Justis Publishing which continues to serve the Irish market and First Law are contracted to supply its content.

First Law developed online CPD and is contracted to the Law Society to provide this for their members. We also had an extensive professional law text book division as well as publishing a number of award winning corporate and consumer books such as, Going to Court — A Consumer's Guide and Farmers and The Law. In recent time we have commenced specialised law journals. First Law does contract publishing for organisations in Ireland and abroad.
